At Goodwinds we have more than 10 years of teaching experience and we have developed a teaching method that will get you up and riding safer and faster.
Our lesson program suggests the abilities and technical knowledge that a kitesurfer should have to safely and effectively pass to the next level. The levels presented serve as a guide for what a lesson should be like. However, since people have different sports backgrounds and experience, we go at the speed of each student. So, for example a lesson could have part of a level combined with another.
Once you complete body dragging and some important exercises you will be ready to try the board for the first time! This is the stage where all those dreams and hard work pay off, as you get to feel the board on your feet! It’s one of those feelings that are hard to describe and you have to experience yourself. But ask any kiteboarder… they all remember the first day they stood up and rode on top of the water!
We are the only school in Puerto Rico to use boat support for every board riding lesson. The advantages of having boat support are many. Standing on the board for the first time is only the beginning of learning to kitesurf. We teach in a real world scenario where the students will get to experience riding away from the shore and practice all the skills required to be self sufficient, all this while having an instructor less than a few feet from them. Students will be able to stand up and ride for prolonged amounts of time, without fear of going far from their instructor and will also be able to practice kite relaunching without beach break and the weight of the instructor. No other teaching method will get you riding faster!
